In Morroco, in October of 2016, at the meeting of ministers of higher education of Islamic countries, the meeting of secretary generals for ISESCO national commitions was approved to be held at ISC, Shiraz, Iran.

This meeting for which National Commission of ISESCO in Iran, Regional Office of ISESCO in Tehran, and ISC are cooperating, is going to be held on 11th and 12th of November, 2018 at ISC, Shiraz, Iran. It will be an effective step for internationalization of ISC.

Regarding the status of ISESCO-by help of which ISC has been established-, holding this meeting at ISC is of great importance. With regard to the scientific authority of Iran, this meeting can have a significant role. In fact, regarding the role and status of ISC in ranking and measuring research performances, valuable memorandums of cooperation can be signed with member states of ISESCO.

This meeting can lead to improvement in research quality and development of a united scientific network among OIC member states and create the basis of correct scientific policy makings and future gainful cooperation among universities and scientists of different fields of study in OIC member states.

 

Part One : An Introduction to Malaysian Participants

 

One of the participating countries in this important meeting is Malaysia.

The Malaysian representatives are:

- Dr. Noraisah binti Spahat; Secretary-General of Malaysian National Commission for UNESCO, from Ministry of Education, Policy and International Relations Division

- Dr. Khairul Anuar Shariff; currently a lecturer at Universiti Sains Malaysia, from Ministry of Education, Policy and International Relations Division

The Scientific Status of Malaysia in Global Ranking of QS 2019:

Malaysia is one of the scientific authorities among Islamic countries. In QS 2019 ranking, it has had the highest number of universities (13 universities). According to the reports of QS 2019, this is 12.78% of all universities of Islamic countries and 1.3% of all universities of the world.
