The 1st EC members Meeting in ISC

Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC), Shiraz, Iran

In ISC’s EC members meeting that is held in Shiraz, representatives from different OIC regions convene. The members discuss different issues and get informed of their responsibilities not only for their countries but for their relevant regions. This will provide the ground for enhancing the rate of cooperation and collaboration between ISC and OIC countries and also attaining the long term objective of promoting the status of science, research, technology and innovation in the Islamic world.

At the beginning of the meeting, members of ISC Executive Committee were introduced, and solutions for the growth of the status of Islamic world universities in world rankings were investigated.

In the second session, ISC president clarifies the strategies for the growth of the status of Islamic world universities in global rankings.

This meeting is held with the presence of of Nigerian, Malaysian, Turkish, and Pakistani ISC Executive Committee members representing various regions including Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent at the site of the Islamic World Science Citation Center, attended by Dr. Mohammad Jawad Dehghani, Head of the Islamic World Science Citation Center and ISC Assistants and Managers.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss how ISC programs are implemented in the region and in the Islamic countries, in particular by collaborating on indexing prestigious scientific publications, monitoring the scientific performance of Islamic countries, helping to increase the research performance of universities and their global ranking in international ranking systems and holding systematic workshops for universities and faculty aimed at increasing the effectiveness of research in regional and global scales.
