World University Ranking

As a whole 87 countries were ranked in this report: 58 institute from Africa, 727 from Asia, 172 from East Europe, 155 from Latin America, 88 from Middle East, 563 from North America, 81 from Oceania and 987 from west Europe.
Top ten institutes in this ranking are listed below:
- China Academy of Science has the first rank in the world, region and among Chinese universities and research institutes.
- France National Center for Scientific Research has the second rank of the world. However its rank in region and France is (1).
- Russia Academy of Science and Harvard University are in the third and forth rank in the world respectively.
- The fifth world rank in SIR ranking belongs to Tokyo University.
- Max Planck institutes in Germany, National Health Institute in USA, Toronto University in Canada, Shingava University in China and Washington University in USA have the Sixth to tenth rank of the world respectively.

University ranking in Middle East shows that Hacet Tepe University in Turkey has the first rank. Its rank in the world is 354 and 1 in the country.
Istanbul University in Turkey has the second rank in Middle East, second in the country and 117 in west Europe.
Ankara University has the third rank in Middle East, third in the country and 45 in west Europe.
According to SIR ranking, five top universities in Iran are as below:
- Tehran University has the Sixth and First rank in Middle east and country respectively.
- Sharif Industrial University with second rank in the country and seventh in region has 546 rank in the world.
- Tehran Medical Science University has 10 rank in region, 691 in the world and is the third in Iran.
- Tarbiat Modares University has forth rank in Iran, 855 in the world and 13th in the region.
- Fifth rank in Iran’s universities belongs to Iran Science and Industry University which is 924 in the world and 18 in the region.
