According to the Office of Public Relations and International Scientific Cooperation of the Islamic Science Citation Center (ISC) and Regional Information Center for Science and Technology, Dr. Mohammad Javad Dehghani, ISC President, declared: “The results of the 2022 QS ranking were published on June 8, 2021. In this ranking, 1300 universities from all over the world were evaluated.”

Dehghani stated: “In the recent QS ranking, there are 6 universities from Iran. The first and second universities in Iran are Sharif University of Technology and Amirkabir University of Technology with the ranks of 381 and 465, respectively. University of Tehran with the rank of 521-530 is in the third place.

Other universities in this ranking are Iran University of Science and Technology with the rank of 541-550, Shiraz University with the rank of 751-800 and Shahid Beheshti University with the rank of 1001-1200.”

He added: “Comparing to last year, all Iranian universities have improved in terms of rank in QS Ranking 2022.”

Dehghani also said: "Considering the fact that Universities of Technology are fewer than comprehensive universities and medical sciences universities, and regarding the presence of three Universities of Technology in this ranking, i.e. half of the present universities and the first two universities, it can be said that Universities of Technology have performed better in this ranking.”

ISC President said: “24 Islamic countries were present in this ranking. Among the OIC countries, Malaysia with 22 universities (with the best ranking of 65), Turkey with 21 universities (with the best ranking of 511-520), and Indonesia with 16 universities (with the best ranking of 254) have the highest attendance. Malaysia also attained the best ranking among universities in OIC countries.”
