DOR received warmly by journals

In 2020 February, and with the presence of Science, Research and Technology Minister, digital objects recognizer (DOR) system that allows you to register and issue a unique code for each article has been publicized. This system has been produced by ISC could be used by both national and international journals.

Although currently the issuance of this code has been done only for journals and articles, but in designing and implementing this system, all international standards and procedures have been observed and the necessary planning for the possibility of issuing DOR for all Research activities include articles from national and international conferences, reports on research projects, student thesis and dissertations, patents, as well as works of art and software production.

The information extracted from this system shows that by the end of September 2021, less than a year after publishing DOR. To date, 555 journals have joined this system to receive this code and 103419 articles have received the unique DOR code. Meanwhile, the number of journals in April was 133 and the number of articles was 9824, which shows a 4-fold increase in the number of publications and a 10-fold increase in the number of articles during the last 6 months.

The increase ratio in scientific articles that received this code in the first six months of 2021 has been relatively high, so that from April, 9824 articles increase to 103419 in September, as the results show a 10-fold increase. This shows that the increase in articles’ monthly growth average in receiving DOR was 48%. By the end of the current solar (Persian) year 1400, all articles published in journals are expected to use DOR.
