ISC/ D-8 to promote interactions to a new level

ISC delegation including Prof. Dr. S. Ahmad Fazelzadeh, ISC President and Dr. Mohammad Reza Falahati, ISC Director of Office of International Scientific Cooperation, met with the Secretary General and officials of D8 at the main headquarter of D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation in Istanbul, turkey.

The history of cooperation between ISC and D-8 dates back to 2013 and 2018. In 2019, D-8 Secretary General attended ISC, during which plans were made for the interactions between the two sides. The results of that meeting were the launch of D-8 universities’ ranking.

In this meeting a set of ISC products were highly noticed by D-8 Secretary General, and the annual joint interaction has been planned.

On another part of this meeting, the participants discussed various issues and as a result of the meeting, it was decided that a joint committee should be formed to advance the past, present and future interactions of the two sides.

Also, it was agreed to carry out a special activity for the D-8 region, according to the monitoring of the performance of scientists and researchers by ISC. In this context, it was decided to define and implement a joint award to honor the top scientists of D-8 region after identifying the top researchers and understanding about the evaluation indicators and metrics.

It was also decided that with the aim of getting familiar with the services of ISC several webinars for different D-8 member countries will be held with the cooperation of this organization, and then the results of these webinars will be reviewed and followed up in future meetings.

At the end of this meeting, with the aim of enhancing the interactions between the two sides to a new level, a MoU on scientific, research, technology and innovation cooperation was signed and exchanged between the two parties.
