Prof. Mehrad, member of world ranking universities team, stated that there are only six universities from Africa and South America in the list of Top world- class universities. Africa continent with large population and different countries lacks universities which fit the international standards. However, the first Top University in this continent is “Cape Town University” ranked in 130 place of the list of Top world-class universities. “Stellenbosch University” and “ University of Witwatersrand” are the second and third Top world-class universities in this continent which are among the rank of 251 to 275.
Also “ Alexandria University” in Cairo with the rank between 301- 350 fixed itself in the list of Top 400 world-class universities.
In South America, “Sao Paulo University” in Brazil is the first Top University in this country and also South America continent. The second top university of Brazil is “ State University of Campinas” with the rank between 276-300 and the third Top university in this continent is “ Pontifical Catholic University of Chile” with the rank between 351-400.
