International Status of the Two Universities of Iran

Tehran University is among Top 500 and Sharif University of Technology is among Top 400 World Universities based on Shanghai and Times ranking systems respectively, Said Prof. Mehrad , President of ISC in Isfahan University ISC seminar.
He stated that Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, according to decided policies, are trying to improve research education in universities and identify top universities based on accepted criteria in national and regional levels.
He also emphasizes on the great scientific activities done in Iran one of which is the establishment of Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) with a cooperation of ISESCO, and its approval by Higher Education Ministers of the Islamic Countries in 2008. Also identifying indicators and criteria of ranking OIC member countries in Tehran in 2007, reviewing these indicators and finally approving them in an Extraordinary Meeting of the Ministers of Higher Education of the Islamic Countries in Saudi Arabia in 2011 are other significant activities.
