QS World University Rankings 2025 Unveiled
9 universities from the I.R. of Iran in QS World University Rankings 2025

ISC president, Seyed Ahmad Fazelzadeh, said that this year’s ranking is the largest ever, featuring over 1,500 universities across 105 higher education systems. The United States is the most represented country or territory, with 197 ranked institutions, followed by the United Kingdom with 90 and mainland China with 71.
For the 13th consecutive year, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) maintains its reign at the top. Imperial College London jumps four places to take second and the University of Oxford and Harvard University are in third and fourth place respectively. The University of Cambridge rounds out the top five.

ISC president continued: “There are 9 universities from the I.R. of Iran in QS World University Rankings 2025. Sharif University of Technology ranked 342, Tehran University ranked 368, Amir Kabir University of Technology ranked 403, Iran University of Science and Technology ranked 436, and Isfahan University of Technology ranked 489 and ranked first to fifth in Iran, respectively. Tabriz University (552), Shiraz University (691-700), Shahid Beheshti University (851-900) and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad )951-1000) have been ranked in the next places.
He continued: The performance of Iranian universities in QS World University Rankings 2025 in different years is shown in Table 2.

29 Islamic countries with 270 universities have participated in this ranking. Among the Islamic countries, Malaysia with 35, Indonesia with 27 and Turkey with 25 universities have the largest number of universities.
