Prof. Dr. Mehrad the president of Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) announced although the number of journals are increasing in the world, the number of Islamic countries journals in ISI are decreasing.
He mentioned one of the most important key roles of ISC is collecting and indexing scientific journals and articles of Islamic countries that they have been publishing since 2008.
He added that by considering 10 times growth of indexing in ISC than the first years, ISC center has grown magnificently during these years. For example, indexed articles in Persian publications have been increasing from 2561 to 25421 since 2008 to 2011 that such a growth is due to innovation in software in ISC.
The president of ISC said that language context analysis of indexed publications shows just 30 % of publications are in English. The other portions belong to 30% in Arabic, 29% in Persian, 6 % in Turkish, 3% in Urdu, 1% in Malaysian and 1% in French.
Dr. Mehrad said that ISC is the first system which indexes publications of Islamic countries vastly. At the present time, Universities and Research Institutes access to ISC full time and free based on the Vice-Minister for Research and Technology Affairs of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of I. R. of Iran suggestion.
Publication reviews in ISI show that more than 83% of indexed articles in ISI were in English in last two decades. Consequently, ISC performs significant role for Islamic countries and their languages.
