Iran ranked 16th in the world science production

According to SCOPUS and Thomson Reuters, Iran ranked 16th and 18th places of science production respectively.
Prof. Mehrad stated that Iran allocated 1.6 % of the world science production from the beginning of 2013 although Iran science production in citation systems is still growing.
These two systems showed different statistics because of the volume of records of these two systems and also difference in their evaluation indicators.
He stated USA, China, UK, Germany and Japan are ranked at first to fifth places in two mentioned systems. However, Russia and Turkey are ranked after Islamic Republic of Iran in these citation systems.
