UHS Delegation Attend 5-day Workshop at RICeST and ISC in July

Following the MoU signed between RICeST and ISC, on the one hand, and University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, Pakistan, on the other, in October 2016, and with the objective to implement one of the articles of the MoU regarding the establishment of RICeST’s branch of information services in UHS, two experts from the Pakistani university visited Shiraz in July, 2017 (1st to 5th), to attend a five-day workshop on RICeST and ISC’s databases and information services. During the first three days, the trainees were introduced to RICeST’s databases and information services. During the two closing days, they were acquainted with current updated information on ISC’s databases as they were practically trained on how to input, submit or upload data on ISC’s software.

Having completed the workshop successfully, the duo will soon be going back to their country after which efforts will be made for establishment of RICeST’s branch office in UHS. Through this branch, UHS staff (professors and students) as well as those from other surrounding universities and research institutions will be able to have access to an array of information services, i.e. e-articles, e-journals, e- books and other information products.

Further, the two parties agreed to exchange journals, books, technical and research reports, computer software and other types of information sources they have at their disposal for the better fulfilment of information communication in the two countries.
