Iran science production rank in the world and among the Islamic world and the region countries

According to WoS, which is based on the number of science production in different countries, Iran was ranked 21 in the world with 31041 documents in 2012, where Turkey was ranked 18 with 34541 documents in the same year. In 2015, Iran was ranked 19, in 2016 ranked 18, and since 2017, Iran has ranked 16 for three consecutive years. This is while Turkey was ranked 17th in 2019 with 55,357 records.

It should be noted that in Scopus, Iran was ranked 18 in 2012, where it was ranked 16 from 2016 to 2018 for three consecutive years. In 2019, Iran's international position in Scopus was 15. In addition, in recent years, Iran has been ranked first in both Islamic countries and region countries in ISC ranking system.
