Iranian universities in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022 / Ranking of Iranian universities in 18 subject areas in 2022

QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022 has published the twelfth world's universities subjective ranking. In this ranking, the world's universities are evaluated in 51 subjects, while 18 Iranian universities present in this ranking.

QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The QS system comprises three parts: the global overall ranking, the subject rankings, which name the world's top universities for the study of 51 different subjects and five composite faculty areas, as well as five independent regional tables, namely Asia, Latin America, Emerging Europe and Central Asia, the Arab Region, and BRICS.

In 2022, Iranian universities are present in 18 subject areas. While, Tehran University of Medical Sciences was the only university in Iran that was ranked 251-300 in medicine subject area in 2016, the presence of Iranian universities have risen from one subject area to 8 subject areas in 2017, to 9 subject areas in 2018, to 13 subject areas in 2019 and 2020, to 17 subject areas in 2021 ranking. During the current year, and with the addition of environmental sciences subject area, the ranking has been upgraded to 18 areas.
